31..What is  the linux boot process ?
The initrd is bound to the kernel and loaded as part of the kernel boot procedure. The kernel then mounts this initrd as part of the two-stage boot process to load the modules to make the real file systems available and get at the real root file system. Thus initrd image plays a vital role in linux booting process.

 32..Can Linux Boot from MS−DOS?

 LILO doesn't work, and if the machine has MS−DOS or Microsoft Windows, you may be left with a computer that won't boot. This can also happen on an upgrade to your Linux distribution. Re−installing LILO is the last thing that the installation does

33..What Platforms Does Linux Support?

Linux was written originally for Intel processor based PC's, using the hardware facilities of the 80386 processor and its successors to implement its features. The 80386 family includes the 80486, and all of the Pentium chips. However, there are now many ports to other hardware platforms

 Once you obtain a distribution (media),  it will contain instructions on installation. Each distribution has its own installation program

37..Explain the contents of the  /boot directory?

The contents are mostly Linux kernel files or boot loader files, depending on the boot loader, most commonly LILO or GRUB
